And then there was HEAT!

Just as some snow was starting to come down, my new furnace was installed. Last night, Rob and one of his co-workers came home from work and installed my new furnace that has been sitting in the basement for about 6 months.

It took them about 6 hours, as they had to put in a new duct manifold, chimney, and remove the old warhorse of a furnace. It's been running all night, and WOW! Curtains go flying around when it comes on, and the house warms up quickly.

They were missing a part for the cold air return, so right now it's not hooked up to the return system, but we have some amazing heat. The part we need will be ready on Monday.

This should save me a bunch of money in both gas and electricity. The new furnace is a multi-stage system, and has different fan speeds for heat or cool. Once they get that return completed, I will need to put some doors on the front of the furnace nook. It's a bit louder than the old one, and now I can finish that portion of the renos!
