What's on T.V.?

I've been watching some older shows lately... mostly because all the new stuff is pretty terrible. One show that is standing out is "Third Watch".
The exploits of a group of men and women who serve the City of New York as police officers, firemen, and paramedics in the fictional 55th Precinct.
One of the things that really makes this TV show really good is the way the characters interact. They are true to their natures throughout the story lines, regardless of the trials and troubles they have to overcome. There is a show currently airing called "Chicago Fire" that is in its first season. It is close to the premise of "Third Watch" but more modern. If you are looking for a show that has some gritty excitement, and seems to be close to reality, check this one out.

Movie Review: Judge Dredd (2012)

I went to this movie with a little bit of trepidation. The older version with Sylvester Stallone was, while a little campy, a great show. Sitting in the theater I hoped for something that could rival it. I wasn't let down. It started off immediately setting the pace for the entire movie. Not strong on story, but tipped its hat to the Dredd universe along the way. Character development was entertaining, and has a great pace. I'm not quite convinced this was up to the previous version, but it did have a better bead on the original graphic novels. Verdict: good entertainment, not much thinking. Action all the way. Two and a half stars out of five.

Movie Review: The Bourne Legacy

Just went and saw this movie. I really liked the first one, and the second and third were entertaining. I'm told the only similarity to the books are the names of the characters and a gross outline. Regardless, I enjoyed this new one. It was a bit confusing for the first 45 minutes, but after that it turns into an almost non stop action sequence. I found the camera work to be a bit close for maximum enjoyment, but all in all it was a good diversion for a couple hours. So let's give it a rating.. I would have to say it's about a 3.5 out of five.

Wasteland 2 - Where it all began

A long time ago I used to play a game called Wasteland.  It was on of the first computer RPG's that was more of a sandbox and had consequences for your decisions. You weren't just on rails playing the game. It was the true progenitor of the Fallout series and other apocalyptic rpg's.

Now, more than 20 years later, the same developer is creating another Wasteland! Getting their funding from a crowd sourcing website called Kickstarter, they have raised (at the point of me writing this) $2.0 MILLION DOLLARS!

Check it out and buy a piece of gaming history!
